Today's the first episode of season two and we've chosen to kick it off with the highest form of LOVE. In honor of Mother's day, we are sharing our incredible Mexican mothers with all of you! They're sharing the play-by-play of their favorite dishes and prepare it as a true momma would... by eyeballing it all and pouring in a whole ton of love.

These women share more than their love of food. Hear their advice, idioms (dichos), and even some sentimental moments reflecting on what it was like to let a first-gen daughter leave home for college.

Cecy's mom Cecilia share's a classic Mexican pork recipe, Irene's mom Maria, Mole de Michoacan, and Vero's momma Josefina, Albondiga (Meatball) Soup.

Today we have Ana Martinez, a longtime educator, and friend, on the show. She was the first in her family to attend college and as a proud Latinx professional she pours so much of her heart into improving the lives of so many through equitable education. 

Ana has a long history as an educator in Los Angeles in both public schools and charter schools. We invited Ana to the podcast because we want our listeners who may be thinking of a career in education to learn about her journey and the way she took her role to the next level during the pandemic.  

Ana has accomplished so much in the field of education quickly rising to the ranks as a successful teacher, dean (at only 24 years old), assistant principal, principal, chief of staff, and now a chief academic officer. She's an academic CEO and her words will have you feeling all the feels full of wisdom, inspiration, and so much love.

Paulette Piñero is our special guest covering countless topics from nonprofit career tips to life advice as a first-generation Latina. Paulette is a proud Puertorriqueña - a trailblazer who has dedicated her career to run and develop programs and businesses with a social impact focus. After surviving her fight with COVID-19, Paulette decided to dedicate her life to helping Latinas flourish in business. She is proud of her work increasing equity and inclusion, especially in the nonprofit field.

In 2020, Paulette created Lead Media, LLC to assist the Latinx community. In this episode, hear her story of building joy in everyday life and connect with her on such a down-to-earth level as you learn about her motherhood journey advocating for a child with special needs.

Alicia was an absolute superstar guest, so much so, we want to fly to Jersey just to hang with her.
